A WP editor removed a section written by me in which I agreed with the value of NoteTab, a plain text editor that was described in this essay by someone else years ago. The WP editor thought it was a mistake on my part. No, it was just my opinion, and in fact NoteTab has remained my primary editor for many years, in spite of experimenting with other editors. However, I'm not sure that WP should be advocating any single product, as different people will have different preferences in a text editor. I'm not even sure if NoteTab should be mentioned in this essay (as it still is), as undoubtedly many text editors currently include regular expression matching.
